Chasing Carrots on Wednesday released The Lost Archives, the second downloadable content pack for Halls of Torment, on Xbox, and outlined a free update for all players, according to an Xbox Wire post by Producer Mara Mehlitz. The Xbox Wire page lists the DLC at $3.99 and says it is “available now on XBOX!”
The developer said the add-on introduces a new hall and two playable heroes. It also described a Weekly Challenge that is free for everyone and a new kill‑goal mode that changes how long a run takes.
According to Chasing Carrots, The Lost Archives adds the Library of Forbidden Texts as a new stage beneath the Halls of Torment. The DLC brings two heroes: the Inquisitor, who focuses on Block, Defense and Retribution and adds Judgement and Execution mechanics, and the Blood Apostle, who trades health for power through Sacrifices and spreads the returning Affliction status effect.
The post says Judgement stacks spread between enemies until they are triggered and then deal unblockable damage, while the Inquisitor’s mace triggers Executions. The Blood Apostle regains health by slaying enemies with Fragile or Affliction, and both effects are now uncapped.
Chasing Carrots listed 66 new quests, three new abilities and “a dozen-plus Archives-reworked variants of classic abilities,” six new Artifacts, and more than 20 new items across armor, boots, gloves, headgear, necklaces, and rings.
The Weekly Challenge is free for everyone, rotates through the five base halls and sets a fixed challenge each week, the post says. The studio said the mode also rewards extra Torment Shards.
The free update adds a new mode in every hall via the Shrine of Torment, letting players set the kill goal themselves. The post describes it as “perfect for quicker runs,” especially with artifacts that increase the number of enemies. Finally, the Scriptor now keeps records of peak results and accumulated stats since release.
