Disney+ on Tuesday announced an immersive ‘Olympus Awaits’ takeover of the Empire State Building to celebrate the Season 3 premiere of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ on Nov. 20 on Disney+ and Hulu.
The company said the activation will offer themed spaces and photo moments tied to the series. It will run for a limited time and is included with the building’s Observatory admission.
Disney+ said visitors can travel to a mythical ‘600th Floor’ and enter a Throne Room with towering thrones inspired by the Greek gods. Along the way, fans can find hidden references, interactive elements and photo opportunities. The announcement said select visitors may receive special keepsakes, including ‘a key to Olympus and other godly treasures.’
The company said the building’s ground floor ticketing office will feature a free ‘Hand of Talos’ installation for a photo opportunity open to the public. In addition, the Empire State Building will stage ‘The Glow from Olympus,’ a special exterior lighting display on Friday, Nov. 20, turning the landmark into a beacon inspired by Mount Olympus.
Disney+ said exclusive ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ x Empire State Building merchandise will be sold for a limited time at the gift shop. The ‘Olympus Awaits’ experience begins Monday, Nov. 16, and runs through Friday, Dec. 4.
