Netflix on Wednesday unveiled the teaser and first-look images for Proxies and said the thriller will premiere globally on the service on Dec. 11.

The company said the film is directed by Oriol Paulo and stars Eduard Fernández, Mario Casas, Blanca Suárez, Nicolás Francella and Alexandra Jiménez. Netflix said the cast also includes Blanca Parés, Javier Beltrán, Marta Bayarri and Ana Wagener.

According to Netflix, the story begins on Christmas Eve morning when a man walks into a police station and confesses to killing two or three people. The company said the confession raises questions about why he turned himself in and what he aims to achieve, and that his account soon ties to another seemingly closed case that defies logic.

Netflix said Proxies is a Juanita Films production written by Oriol Paulo and Guillem Clua. The company said Paulo and Miguel Ángel Faura serve as executive producers and produce alongside Libertad Ribera and Jaume Martí. Netflix said the cinematography is by Bernat Bosch, with an original score by Fernando Velázquez.

According to Netflix, Juanita Films was founded by screenwriter and director Oriol Paulo with Libertad Ribera and is based in Barcelona. The company said Proxies is the production company’s first title and is a Netflix original thriller.
