Netflix announced that a new family film, “Dilwali Diwali,” will premiere on its streaming service on Nov. 5. The company posted the announcement on Oct. 25, 2026.

Netflix said Terribly Tiny Tales, known as TTT, brings the film and is continuing its association with the service. It named Greater Kalesh and Musafir Cafe as the projects that came before.

According to Netflix, the story follows Ansh Sikka, who has spent years working abroad. He buys his middle-class Punjabi parents a new high-rise apartment as a way to give them a better life. When he returns home for Diwali, he finds that a new home does not necessarily mean a fresh start.

Netflix describes the film as a look at the gap between a parent’s idea of happiness and a child’s idea of success. The company said the Sikka family’s differing ideas about what makes a good life lead to moments of humor, tenderness and recognition. It also said the film explores what happens when the wish to give loved ones the best meets small emotional surprises.

Mihir Ahuja plays Ansh. Manoj Pahwa plays his father. The cast also includes Neelu Kohli and Aurra Bhatnagar. Netflix said the film was written by Ritu Mago and directed by Ritesh Menon.

Netflix included statements from two cast members. Ahuja said Ansh’s journey comes from a place of love, and that the story is relatable because people want to do the best for their families but can forget to understand what makes them happy. He said he is excited for audiences to see the film on Netflix this Diwali.

Pahwa said that for a parent, home is “never just about the walls, the furniture, or the address.” He said children may have a different idea of a good life, but the love behind both views is the same. He said he hopes audiences watch the film with their families.

The announcement did not give a running time, a rating or the languages in which the film will be offered. It also did not say in which countries the film will be available.

The film premieres on Netflix on Nov. 5.
