First Lady Melania Trump and Louisiana State University secured $5 million to establish a permanent endowment fund, the White House announced Wednesday. The fund will provide Fostering the Future scholarships for LSU students who experienced foster care.
Trump will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to advance the initiative with an announcement at the university, the Office of the First Lady said.
During the visit, the First Lady will attend the football game between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide at Tiger Stadium. A campaign for the Fostering the Future initiative will activate across the campus and on the field during the game, the office said.
