Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said the company’s revenue grew 25% from a year earlier in the third quarter of 2026. He made the remarks on the company’s earnings call, and Google published an edited transcript.
Pichai described Alphabet as being at “a half-trillion-dollar annual run rate.” The transcript does not give a dollar figure for third-quarter revenue or profit.
Pichai said Google Cloud revenue grew 103%. He said AI infrastructure and solutions are the main drivers, and that the company is working to bring more capacity online. He also said demand is strong for Google’s TPU systems across a wide range of customers.
On AI models, Pichai said Google’s first-party model APIs are now processing nearly 32 billion tokens per minute. That is 40% more than last quarter and more than four times what the company processed a year ago, he said.
Google announced a new model called Carbon on the day of the call. Pichai described it as the company’s strongest frontier model, with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long-horizon capabilities. He said it ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with a score of 59.
Carbon is being rolled out first to a subset of trusted cyber defenders before access expands, Pichai said. He said the U.S. government is testing it. He said an earlier model in the Gemini 4 series, Argon, launched two weeks ago and that developer usage in its first week ramped up three-and-a-half times faster than Gemini 3.
Pichai also said Google announced Genie 4 the day before the call. He described it as the company’s most advanced world model yet, which simulates interactive worlds with native audio in real time. He said it is an important building block for training robots and agents.
Pichai said the Gemini app has reached one billion users and called it the fastest-growing product in Google’s history. He said Search query growth is the highest it has been in five years. According to Pichai, queries in AI Mode are on average three times longer than traditional searches, and Search has passed 50 billion visual searches per month.
He said the company plans to bring agentic features to Search and the Gemini app. He described these as features that help people get things done, such as booking reservations, filling in forms, scheduling appointments or making purchases. He said they will later extend to Chrome, Android and Google’s Workspace products.
Pichai said YouTube Music and Premium have passed 150 million subscribers globally, including people on trials. He said YouTube is the top streaming platform in the U.S. by watch time.
Among Alphabet’s long-term projects, Pichai said Waymo has driven more than 300 million fully autonomous miles. He said Waymo operates in 15 major U.S. cities and recently opened public service in San Antonio, San Diego and Tampa. He said it plans expansions into Canada, Germany, Singapore and Spain.
Pichai said more models are coming soon, including more efficient versions aimed at speed and cost. The figures and performance claims in this article come from Pichai’s remarks as published by Google.
