The Justice Department on Monday announced charges involving 63 individuals, including four illegal aliens, in connection with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and related election crimes across the country, according to the department.

The department said the cases include voting by aliens in federal elections, false claims of U.S. citizenship to register to vote or to vote, and one fraudulent voter registration application in another state. A complaint, indictment, and information merely contain accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Attorney General Todd Blanche said, “This Department of Justice will continue investigating and prosecuting voter fraud to restore confidence in our electoral system.” The department said that in the last nine weeks it has charged 195 aliens across 25 states with illegal voting and registration offenses, and since the beginning of this Administration it has charged 239 people with voting fraud-related offenses.

Case summaries released by the department list matters in several federal districts.
