Hochul launches statewide holiday toy, coat and supply drive
Governor Hochul on Tuesday launched New York’s annual statewide holiday donation drive to support children and families in need, the governor’s office said. The drive is seeking donations of new, unwrapped toys, school supplies, and new or gently used coats for community-based organizations throughout the holiday season.
“The holiday season brings out the best in New Yorkers, and our annual toy drive is back,” Governor Hochul said. She encouraged those who can to donate coats, toys or school supplies to help neighbors during the season.
The New York State Office of General Services established drop-off locations across the state where businesses and individuals can contribute, according to the announcement. Statewide collections will run from Nov. 2 through Dec. 4. The Capital Region will have an extended collection period through Dec. 11 and will accept both in-person drop-offs and shipped packages.
Shipped packages ordered online can be sent to: Empire State Plaza, P1 South Dock J, Albany, New York 12242, NYS Holiday Drive. More information about the New York State Holiday Drive is available at ny.gov/new-york-states-annual-holiday-drive, the governor’s office said.
New York State Office of General Services Commissioner Jeanette Moy said the drive is an opportunity to put generosity into action and that every contribution matters.
